Dream Big, Suffer Hard, Seek Joy
It's a bit of a manta I've come up with, and it's frequently good advice. I've always found that I'm most satisfied, and find the most meaning in things that are difficult, at the edge of my comfort zone, that at first seem just out of reach. Wether it be for career decisions, athletic endeavors, or personal interests, I try to make an effort to dream as big as possible. Finding something that I maybe don't quite think is even possible, then putting an incredible amount of work into it anyway. Worst case, I'll have learned a lot and have to abandon the project when it doesn't work out. But in most cases, I end up surprising myself. This process of personal growth is incredibly meaningful to me, and is the joy I seek.
